The intense play of the Maddogs once again proved victorious this past weekend. They took their pride of the pack to the annual Acton 10’s tournament and had their first opportunity to show off their new jerseys. After the first round robin series, they were put in the Men’s Club Social Division. Putting in a strong squad for their third game of the day, the Maddogs dominated their opponents and ousted them with a shut-out.

With a 2-1 tournament record, the Maddogs were placed in the semi-finals. For their fourth game of the day, the Maddogs were facing a strong and experienced North Shore squad. The Maddogs were able to come out victorious with their hands and their minds on the ball, putting up another shut-out.

In the finals, the tournament's hosting team, Old Gold Rugby club, was to face the momentum and fire filled hearts of Boston’s own Maddogs. Facing a very tough offense, the Maddogs defense proved stronger than ever. It was obvious the Maddogs came to win this game and they did just that. When the final whistle blew, it was 3 tries to none. In four of the five games, the Maddogs allowed a ruggers delight of only 7 points.

The Dogs look forward to the upcoming fall season. Thanks to Old Gold for hosting the tournament and to all those supporting the maddogs!
