This past weekend the Mad Dogs hosted fellow white
league playoff contenders, the UCONN Huskies. The battle of the bloodhounds
ensued on a cool windy day at Madison Park. Striking first the Dog’s
were able to play a cool-headed
game
of rugby. UCONN came out ready for war as these last couple games determine
who will make it to the playoffs and who will be scheduling T-time. The Mad
Dogs were able to overcome a well structured defense putting up 15 before
the end of the match. More importantly the Dogs were able to front an insurmountable
defense shutting out the huskies the entire match. UCONN was able to maintain
the ball just meters from the Dogs try line for close to 10 minutes. Threatening
with each pick of the ball the Dogs were able to hold off all attempts.
Previous
to this game the huskies had lost just one game and are now in the midst of
3 teams fighting for the last 2 spots to make the playoffs. The Mad Dogs face
Dartmouth this weekend and providing a victory will be the #2 seed in New
England for the Northeast playoffs. Join us in Dartmouth
and see two great teams go head to head for playoff birth at 12 noon!
