It was dog-eat-dog as the Northeastern University Maddogs devoured their canine counterparts, the University of Connecticut Huskies 24-0 at Storrs, CT. From the outset it appeared the Dogs would dominate; in true Maddog fashion the Dogs came out strong as they scored a try moments into the game. The Dogs commanded the field so that the Huskies spent very little time in Maddog territory. Despite some time in the Sin Bin the Maddogs ruled the field most of the half, scoring another try and a conversion goal to lead 12-0 at the end of the half.

During the second half it was M.O.T.S. (more of the same) with the Maddogs upsetting the Huskies by scoring a try and a conversion goal a few minutes into the half. Again and again the Dogs outplayed the frustrated Huskies and it was fun in the scrum as the Dogs plowed their way toward the goal with only seven men in (another Sin Bin incident) against the Huskies eight. The Dogs continued to control the game to score another try, ending the game 24-0.

Coach Sean O’Leary was clearly delighted with the Maddogs ability with the scrums, noting that the Dogs won 16 of 19 scrummages against one of the leagues biggest packs. “We can do this all day,” he shouted to encourage his pack. After the game Coach O’Leary noted with pride that “the forwards came out with passion.”
